Linnunpöntöstä löytyi ihan pieni munankuori. Kuori on kynnen kokoinen. Olisiko tämä kirjosiepon munankuori The European pied flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca) . Kirjosiepon pesä oli viimeisenä linnunpöntössä, joka nyt jouduttiin siirtämään toiseen paikkaan.
So sad to read about the egg. We have sparrowhawk here too.
VastaaPoistaIt's great that you have a sparrow hawk in your yard. Fortunately, we don't have any in our yard. The bird's perch had to be removed from the tree and moved to another place. The wood was felled when it was dry. There was no nesting in the nest for a long time. In the nest was an old eggshell from which a bird had hatched.
PoistaOh dear.
VastaaPoistaI am happy that a new bird has grown from the egg;-)
PoistaI am not sure, Anne, but I would think that the Sparrowhawk in not a small bird and so would have a much larger egg.
VastaaPoistaIn this country, it is illegal to move a Barn Owl's nest without a special licence, which would only be give in very exceptional circumstances. Barn Owls are very strictly protected.
Hi Richard! Damn translator! Translate now whatever hurts! The egg is definitely not a Sparrowhawk's eggshell! That shell was found in a shed in the yard when the site of the shed had to be moved. The European Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca) had last nested there, a long time ago. I am happy that the nesting was successful, and all the baby birds had left the nest. All that was left was this one empty eggshell. Here it is not forbidden to move the bird's perch.
